As part of our contractual obligations and for clarity for our patients below is further information about our governance and policies.
Local Access Policy (SC6.12)
The Robin Lane Eye Clinic is subject to the national referral to treatment guidelines and must report nationally on these.
We treat all patients within 18 weeks and offer all patients appointments within six weeks of referral receipt, in line with current national requirements.
Surgical treatment at Robin Lane Eye Clinic is limited to non-cosmetic eye lid minor procedures (e.g. persisting chalazia, non – malignant lid lumps and bumps, punctal widening, punctal ectropion and nasolacrimal duct irrigation).
We are a referral – only elective service for adults and are not contracted to provide emergency, paediatric, cancer, or motility (squint) services.
Our remit is provided in more detail here – Community Eye Clinic – Robin Lane Health and Wellbeing Centre
We provide equitable NHS Care Closer to Home for local patients referred with relevant eye conditions. Patients who are vulnerable for any reason are identified as soon as possible from referring information and provided with appropriate communication and additional support to access the service. Occasionally a patient referral will need to be transferred to the local teaching hospital where requirements dictate (bedbound patients or patients requiring hoisting for example).
When any safeguarding issues are identified, the formal Robin Lane Eye Clinic and Robin Lane Health and Wellbeing Centre Safeguarding Practice procedures will be followed in the normal way.
If you have any questions on this, or on your care please contact: 0113 3955833
