Our Walk-in service
What is our walk-in service?
First launched in January 2012 and then expanded to 6 days a week in December 2014, ur walk-in service is staffed by dedicated GPs and specially trained Nurse Practitioners.
The service is open to all patients registered at Robin Lane Practice and guarantees you a same day consultation for routine and urgent health matters.
When is it available?
The service runs daily from 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday. Simply turn up and check in at reception. If the wait is likely to be more than half an hour, you can reserve your space and use the time to pop out for a coffee!
What happens when I arrive?
On arrival, patients will be asked to complete a short assessment form briefly outlining the reason for their visit. We employ a wide range of clinical specialists including GPs, Consultants, Chronic Disease Specialist and more, and so the short assessment form enables us to ensure you see the most appropriate person.
Normally patients will be seen in order of arrival but the clinical team will assess each patient’s problem and may make adjustments for clinical need. This means someone who arrives after you may be seen earlier.
Why have we launched the Walk In Clinic?
- To give our patients SAME DAY access without the need to telephone for an appointment
- To reduce demand for booked routine appointments, enabling GPs more time to manage complex cases
- To reduce the need for patients to call or book an appointment electronically
- To assist in alleviating the pressure on hospital A&E departments and walk-in centres
