Robin Lane Health and Wellbeing Centre

Love Pudsey Charity Board of Trustees

A foundation trust of Robin Lane Health and Wellbeing Centre Partnership

Love Pudsey Charity is a foundation charitable incorporated trust established in 2013 by the GP Practice Partners at Robin Lane Health and Wellbeing Centre (formerly Robin Lane Medical Centre).  The partnership recognised that the medical model was not the whole story of a persons' health and wellbeing and that a different form of partnership was needed if they were to help address the health and wellbeing challenges of the future.

Love Pudsey Charity seeks to put patients and the wider community at the constitutional heart of healthcare so that health and social care professionals, patients and volunteers, the third sector and others can work together and co-produce solutions that will make a real difference.

"Putting our patients and the wider community at the constitutionally heart of health care in order to work together to address the social, non medical, determinants of health and wellbeing."

Our charitable objectives

1) To advance health in Pudsey, both physical and mental, by providing a range of health related activities and interventions to enable people to live longer and healthier lives that are full and meaningful

2) To promote for the benefit of the inhabitants of Pudsey and the surrounding area the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life of the said inhabitants.

Our principal activities

Provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities.

Provision of health related activities and interventions, principally through the delivery of a community volunteer programme.

Governance

Whilst the constitution of Love Pudsey Charity guarantees 2 nominated trustees from the GP partnership, it is required to act with sufficient independence so that the Charity makes the best decisions in regards to its charitable objectives.  This means that the GP Practice cannot have more than 1/3rd of the total number of trustees and does not carry any veto

From the GP partnerships' perspective, this provides patients and the community a guaranteed right of influence over the health and social care services and activities that are delivered for their benefit.  From the Charity's perspective, it uses this independence to help shape and influence the decisions of the GP Practice Partnership whilst delivering a full patient engagement and volunteer programme.

We currently have 9 serving Trustees of the board, details below.
